Java Engineer (Remote, Contract, AI training) — SME Careers via AI Gig Scout

SME Careers, an AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is building a pool of Senior Java Engineers for hourly, remote contract work at $55/hr. Open to contributors in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.

You will review AI-generated Java code, architectural solutions and technical explanations, and write high-quality reference implementations and reasoning steps. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in logic, performance or design; fact-check technical information; write model solutions that demonstrate correct methods; and rate and compare multiple AI responses on correctness and reasoning quality.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field; 5+ years of professional software engineering with significant hands-on Java on production systems; deep understanding of core Java, concurrency primitives and the Collections Framework; extensive Spring or Spring Boot, REST API and microservices experience; strong system design and performance optimization in distributed Java systems; C1 English or higher; comfort with Git, CI/CD, automated testing and containers; experience giving structured code reviews. Prior AI data training or annotation experience is a strong plus.
