Description

Airtel XStream is a high visibility product category for Airtel targeting premium customers.  This position will be responsible for both

  1. The development of our next generation XSstream boxes, working closely with device product management to define , develop , validate and launch new devices
  2. Refresh of in-market devices, working closely Wynk and other engineering teams

 

The candidate lead a team of QA engineers to define/develop/drive test strategy for Airtel’s portfolio of Android STBs.  In the role , the candidate will also work closely with partners/vendors ( Systems Integrators and ODM partners ) to drive overall quality of our products.

 

 

The ideal candidate

    1. is a currently a test engineer/test lead with deep expertise in testing of Android devices – phones/set top boxes/tablets etc.
    2. Is organized,   process oriented and is able to define , manage and deliver product requirements
    3. Has excellent understanding of Android tools and is able to demonstrate how these have been used for testing ( e.g: monkey, adb , logcat, dumpsys etc. )
    4. Has experience in writing/defining test cases and test setups for both for functional and non functional ( KPI measurement , System stability etc. )

 

 

Mandatory Skills:

    1. Demonstrated experience of writing/defining test cases for functional and non functional ( KPI measurement, System stability etc.)
    2. A demonstrated ability to take high level requirements and define/develop test cases for this
    3. Good understanding of using android tools like adb, systrace etc.
    4. Good understanding/expertise with Android test automation frameworks like UI automator/Espresso etc.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

    1. Good understanding/hands on knowledge  of Google certification process and tests ( CTS, GTS, VTS, CTS Verifier etc. )
    1. Previous experience with hand on development or Android test automation preferred for device development ( platform level , not just application development )
