Watchup brings the power of video journalism to emerging screens. Our Apple-featured iPad app lets you easily watch your daily newscast out of the world's most trusted news channels. Watchup was accelerated at StartX, the Stanford startup accelerator and was the one and only company to be a finalist at SXSW's Accelerator and Interactive Awards. We actively embrace new technologies as they arrive. For instance, a Google Glass app will be released imminently.

Job Description

This is your chance to develop from scratch an Android app based on a successful video news application that has already changed the way people look at the world around them.



You will be one of the first three technical employees in a small fast-growing and extremely detail-oriented team. It’s your chance to be an active part of an angel-backed game-changing startup that is reinventing the way people learn what’s happening in the world on emerging screens.  You will be joining a small company in the most exciting days of the startup journey.



Your goal is to take the lead in bringing the power of video journalism to the Android world. Watchup's current UX comes with a multi-layered user interface centered on a multi-channel video experience, often called "lasagna design." 



Responsibilities



  • Develop from scratch Android products based upon but different from the existing iPad-only app

  • Help pland and take responsibility for major new features based on proprietary and/or patent pending technology or interfaces
