Team Mission

Marketplace Group owns the mobile and web platforms of GetYourGuide. We aim to deliver an amazing customer journey through great user interfaces and rigorous A/B testing. Our goal is to build an unbeatable e-commerce site and a seamless booking experience for our users.

The Traveler Platform team owns the core foundation of the Android app, from the navigation to the design system library. We aim to deliver the best support and developer experience to the product teams, including a smooth CI/CD, measuring performance and monitoring. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will join a team composed of frontend, backend, native apps, data, and product managers and designers to keep improving our mobile experience and impacting thousands of customers every day.

What you’ll do:

• Champion for the continuous improvement of our customers’ experience
• Directly impact the experience of our travelers who are users of the native Android GetYourGuide application
• Maintain a high standard of quality for our code, features, and products
• Translate high-level ideas and requirements into practical solutions
• Contribute to learning and advancement of our engineering practice
• Help build and grow our Team

What you should bring:

• 5+ years of experience in app development
• Experienced with Java, Kotlin, Git, and using the Android Framework
• Knowledge of writing automated tests (Unit/UI/Integration tests/screenshot tests)
• Experienced with setting up CI/CD using GitHub Actions.
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
• Ability to turn ideas into solid, maintainable code
• Open to learning new technologies and methodologies
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft and cares about helping the team deliver
• Capable of working in a diverse team alongside designers, product managers, and software engineers
• Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others in English

Nice to have:

• Experience with backend development in Java or Node.js
• Have one or more successful Android apps published in the Google Play store
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environments
